How Shift Bidding Works (OpenShift Requests)

Overview

Shift Bidding, also called OpenShift Requests, is an option within an OpenShift that allows users to express interest in the shift. You can then view who has requested to pick up the OpenShift and select and approve a user to work the shift.

The Shift Bidding option helps you moderate the OpenShift pick up process to get the most qualified people into the right shifts.

Require pick up approval

Require pick up approval on OpenShifts to allow users to bid on the shift. Shifts requiring pick up approval are marked with a pick up approval icon in the scheduler.

 

 

You can also create OpenShifts requiring pick up approval from your Android device or iOS device.

Bid on shifts

Eligible users can bid on on OpenShifts to express interest in picking up the shift. Users can bid on OpenShifts on the web app, an Android device or iOS device.

 

 

You will be notified when users request to pick up the OpenShift.

Process OpenShift Requests

Use the filters to find the OpenShift requests you are looking for even faster.

 

 

Quickly see which shifts have new bids from users.

 

 

Management then selects someone to work from the list of interested users.

 

 

You can process OpenShift requests from the web app, an Android device or iOS device.
