Creating and Managing Tags

Overview

Tags provide a way to define custom shift qualifications that cannot be easily captured by position alone. Think of tags like additional eligibility requirements that you can layer on top of positions.

For example, tags can capture requirements like:

  • Certifications

  • Preferred status

  • Tenure/seniority

  • Skill subsets not reflected in the position

  • Degree

  • Geographic location

Example

The following is just one example of how tags can work alongside shifts to designate extra requirements.

Qualifications

In order for an employee to be qualified for a shift with tags, they must be eligible to work the position and be assigned all of the tags associated with the shift.

Once you’ve created your tags, you can assign those tags to users, shifts, and shift templates in any combination to ensure that shifts are matched to the correct users.

You can also create and manage tags on your iOS device and Android device.

Considerations

  • You must have supervisor, manager or admin level access to create a tag.
  • Tags are not visible to employees.
  • When a shift has tags assigned, an employee must be assigned all tags present in the shift to be eligible to take it.
