Overview

When I Work fully supports an individual’s right to manage their data as a user of our platform. From your iOS device, you can request to delete and archive your profile. Archiving a user from a particular workplace removes that person from that workplace’s schedule, deletes their user profile, and revokes access to your workplace.

Considerations

  • Workplace admins and managers are informed of your request to delete and archive your user profile. This provides admins and managers an opportunity to delete your future shifts or move them to OpenShifts.
  • Profile deletion applies to your user profile on the selected workplace. This process does not cancel a workplace account. Admins who wish to cancel a workplace account can do so from a computer. See How Do I Cancel My Account?.
  • Deleting your profile alone does not delete personal information contained in your profile, such as past timesheets and schedules. Your deleted profile and its data will be archived, which means it is moved to separate storage since it is no longer actively used. Archived user profile may be reactivated by the workplace to obtain information that may be needed to comply with its tax, legal, accounting, or record keeping purposes.

Request profile deletion

To initiate a profile deletion request:

  1. In the bottom-right corner of the screen, tap More.more button
  2. Scroll down and tap Delete Profile.delete profile button
  3. Check each item to acknowledge profile deactivation.submit delete profile
  4. Tap Submit Request, then tap Close to finish.

Frequently asked questions

Can I request for my profile to be deleted and archived for more than one workplace?

Yes. Log into each workplace profile and follow the steps to delete your profile.

Is my employer notified when I request to delete my profile? 

Yes. Admins and managers will be notified of the deletion request. If you have upcoming assigned shifts, admins and managers have an opportunity to delete your future shifts or move them to OpenShifts.

If you do not have upcoming assigned shifts, your profile is deleted and archived automatically and your admins and managers are notified.

Is the option to delete a profile available from a computer or an Android device?

No. At this time, profile deletion is available on an iOS device. Users in certain jurisdictions have specific rights with respect to their data. Check out our Privacy Policy for more information.
