Overview
When an employee reports an absence, you can view the note for the absence or find coverage for the shift. You can also process absences from your Android or iOS device.
Considerations
You must have supervisor, manager, or admin access privileges in order to process absences.
You can respond to absences in three locations:
- From the dashboard under Attendance Notices
- From the Absence Page
- From the Scheduler
- Absence tracking can be used alongside the shift coverage options in the Scheduling settings.
- Note: When the start time of a shift has already passed, the absence can be reported, but the shift coverage options “Get the shift covered” will no longer appear.
From Attendance Notices
- On the Dashboard, scroll to Attendance Notices.
- Click Show Details.
- Click Get Shift Covered.
- Click either Move to Open or Find Replacement.
- If Move to Open is selected, you will see a confirmation above the Absence
- If Find Replacement is selected, the Drop Shift menu will appear, allowing you to select which users are given the option to accept the shift.

From the Absence Page
- From the Dashboard, hover over the Requests menu on the upper right.
- Click Absences
- Click Get Shift Covered on the right.
- Click either Move to Open or Find Replacement.

- If Move to Open is selected, you will see a confirmation above the Absence
- If Find Replacement is selected, the Drop Shift menu will appear, allowing you to select which users are given the option to accept the shift.

From the Scheduler
- From the Scheduler, hover over the gray Absence block.
- Click View.
- Click Get Shift Covered.
- Click either Move to Open or Find Replacement.
