Clair On-Demand Pay Employee Adoption Guide

Overview

This article is intended to serve as a guide for how to share and help your team get started with Clair On-Demand Pay. Clair On-Demand Pay is included in the Time & Attendance product and gives users an opportunity to access their earned wages as soon as they clock out.

Once On-Demand Pay is turned on in your account, users are given prompts to sign up on the dashboard and clock out screens in the When I Work mobile app. Setup is started in the When I Work web app and completed by setting up Clair through the Clair app. This guide gives you the steps you to need to successfully get your users onboarded with Clair.

How to launch Clair On-Demand Pay to your team

1. Turn it on

Enable Clair On-Demand Pay in your When I Work account. Navigate to the Attendance Settings then toggle On-Demand Pay on. Once toggled on, a new banner appears at the bottom of the When I Work mobile app dashboard when users log in as well as when they clock out of a shift. This makes them aware that they may gain access to a portion of their wages before payday.

2. Tell your team

In addition to seeing the prompts within the mobile apps to access a portion of user’s earnings prior to payday, we recommend messaging your team and sharing that you offer this new benefit during your next team meeting. 

Below is an example of an announcement message to communicate the new benefit to your team. We recommend using Workchat to reach your team directly in the When I Work app.

Hi team! I’m excited to share that we now offer on-demand pay through When I Work and its alliance with Clair. On-demand pay is a way for you to get access to a portion of your earned wages directly after a shift, instead of waiting until payday. You can choose the on-demand pay experience that works best for you, with fee-free and instant options at your fingertips. If interested, you can sign up directly in the When I Work app. Let me know if you have questions.

3. Help with setup

Users see prompts within the When I Work app to sign up for Clair On-Demand Pay once an Admin has turned it on in the account. They see the prompts in the My Hours page or the Dashboard that says, “Access of portion of your earnings before payday!” in the app. 

Print and share the Employee Setup Flyer with your users as an additional reminder and guide for getting started with Clair On-Demand Pay.

If your employees have any questions about setup, the When I Work Customer Care team is happy to help. Once they have a Clair Spending Account or Clair Savings Account they should go directly to the Clair Care team.

4. Share resources
