Offer an OpenShift to Specific Users

Applies to , ,

Overview

When creating or editing an OpenShift, you can view all the users who are eligible for the shift and offer the shift to specific eligible users.

Considerations

A user is eligible to pick up a shift if they meet the following criteria:

View all eligible users

When the OpenShift criteria is defined, you can view all users who are eligible to pick up the shift.

  1. Make sure the OpenShift has a start time, an end time, and a position entered.
  2. Click View currently eligible users at the bottom of the window. A screen appears where you can view the users who are eligible to pick up that OpenShift.

Offer an OpenShift to specific users

Select which eligible users you would like to offer the OpenShift to.

  1. Make sure the OpenShift has a start time, an end time, and a position entered.
  2. Click View currently eligible users at the bottom of the window.
  3. Uncheck the box to the right of a user’s name if you do not want them to pick up the OpenShift.

After you’ve selected who you’d like to offer the OpenShift to, decide how you’d like to offer the shift:

  • Click Save & Publish if you’d like to publish the shift and notify selected users.
  • Click Save if you don’t want to publish the shift yet. When you publish the shift, selected users are notified and can pick up the shift.
Notifications

If you have Schedule Updates enabled in your alert preferences, you receive an alert when a user takes an OpenShift. A notification is sent only if the shift occurs in the next two days.
