Overview

If a user is paid differently based upon the position they are working, set up their hourly rate settings to make the position-based rate assignments automatic.

Before you begin

If you haven’t already done so, add positions and assign positions to your users.

Assign rates to a user based on position

  1. Hover over , then select Users.

  2. Click that corresponds with the user you want to add hourly rates to.
  3. Click the Hourly Rates tab.
  4. In Base Hourly Rate, enter base hourly rate that the user receives regardless of position.
  5. For each position, enter a value to increase or decrease the hourly rate that the user receives for that position.
    • To pay the user more than the base hourly rate, enter a positive number.
    • To pay the user less than the base hourly rate, enter a negative number, such as -2.
  6. Click Save User.

How different rates for different positions can be used

Different positions can be used to manage the unique rates a user earns for each of their position assignments. You can also use different positions to set up different pay on particular days by creating extra positions with that increased rate.

Assign Different Rates Based on the Shift

  1. Hover over , then select  Positions.

  2. Click Add Position to create a new position with an increased rate.
  3. Hover over , then select Users.

  4. Click that corresponds with the user you want to add hourly rates to.
  5. Click on the Hourly Rates tab.
  6. For the new position, enter a value to increase or decrease the hourly rate that the user receives for that position.
  7. Click Save User.
  8. Finally, assign the new position to the user’s shift(s) to reflect the adjustment in pay for that shift.
