Overview

Hire by When I Work makes hiring new employees easy by streamlining the process from start to finish. You can create and share job postings, track applicants, and hire employees all in one place.

Things to know before you begin

When I Work offers a free version of the Hire service in addition to the paid Hire service. Learn more about the differences between the free and paid service here. 

Accessing Hire

  1. From your computer, use a supported web browser to sign in to When I Work.
  2. Click Hire Hire on the toolbar.Hire tab callout on the toolbar

Job postings board

Create, share and manage your postings from the Job Postings board.

Title
The title of the job.

Schedule
The schedule where the job takes place.

Applicants
How many applicants have applied. Click the applicant number to view applicants.

Control which postings display on your public postings page.

Click to copy the job posting URL or to change your distribution settings.

Callout Name Description
a Title The title of the job.
b Schedule The schedule where the job takes place.
c Applicants How many applicants have applied. Click the applicant number to view applicants.
d Active Control which postings display on your public postings page.

f View Click to view active postings on your public postings page.
g Share Click to copy the job posting URL or to change your distribution settings.
h Create posting Click to begin a new posting.
i More options Click to manage posting distribution.

Applicant tracking board

After creating Job Postings, view the applicants for a posting and move them through the stages of the hiring process. Click the number in the Applicants column on your Job Posting board to navigate to the applicant tracking board.

There are four columns in the applicant tracking board for different stages of the hiring process. Hire applicant board

DescriptionApplicants you may want to interview.

DescriptionApplicants you are interviewing.

DescriptionApplicants you have hired.
Name Description
Applied New applicants who have applied to your job posting.

Interviewing Applicants you are interviewing.
Hired Applicants you have hired.
