Overview

If your workplace allows mobile clock in, you can clock in and out from the When I Work Staff Scheduling app on your iPhone or iPad.

Things to know before you begin

  • Your employer has the option to require that you clock in no more than 5, 15, or 30 minutes early.
  • Your employer has the option to require that you clock in within a specific distance of the location or job site where your shift is scheduled.

  • This article contains images of the When I Work app on an iPhone. Although the app looks slightly different on an iPad, the app works the same on both devices.

Clocking in for a scheduled shift

  1. From the When I Work Staff Scheduling app, tap Clock In on the Dashboard.Clock In button
  2. If you see the Position menu, select the position you’ll be working.Clock In details
  3. (Optional) Add a note for your employer.
  4. Tap Clock In.

Clocking in when you’re not scheduled

If you’re not currently scheduled to work, the Clock In button on the dashboard displays a “(no shift scheduled)” message. Your employer has the option to prevent you from clocking in when no shift is scheduled.

  1. From the When I Work Staff Scheduling app, tap Clock In on the Dashboard.
    If nothing happens, your employer does not allow you to clock in without a shift.Clock in no shift scheduled
  2. If you see the Position menu, select the position you’ll be working.Clock in no shift details
  3. (Optional) Add a note for your employer.
  4. Tap Clock In.

Clocking out

  1. From the When I Work Staff Scheduling app, tap Clock Out on the Dashboard.Clock Out button
  2. (Optional) Add a note for your employer.Clock Out details
  3. Tap Clock Out.
